RJ is an electric triple-threat combo guard with a high motor and fierce aggression, always in attack mode. RJ loves to get to his spots and put in punishing work through the mid-range. While he has a soft touch from three-point range, his overall athleticism is so explosive that he thrives on attacking the paint and creating havoc in the lanes. Defensively, he’s a force on the boards and a solid perimeter defender. The areas RJ feels he needs development include controlling pace and tempo to maximize control over his speed.

Last season, RJ averaged 12.5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game, proving his versatility and tenacity on both ends of the floor. RJ’s primary goal for the upcoming season is to lead his team on a deep playoff run and make a strong push toward the state championship. On a personal level, he’s working to stay out of foul trouble, an area that he recognizes as pivotal to his growth and team success. RJ believes his biggest improvement since last season is his ability to play off-ball screens with more control, allowing him to read and execute pick-and-roll plays effectively.

Winning county and area championships last year stands as RJ’s proudest basketball accomplishment, but his hunger for greater achievements burns brighter than ever. A game RJ is looking forward to the most this season is an area matchup against Deshler—a rival that always brings out the best in both teams and guarantees a competitive showdown.

RJ sees himself excelling within the D2 and NAIA divisions. Having already garnered three offers, he is eager to continue his basketball journey and prove his mettle on the next stage.
