Sway is an electric, high-flying combo guard who thrives on relentless energy and explosive athleticism. He’s a dynamic scorer who excels at attacking the lane, setting up teammates, or dropping a lethal mid-range jumper. Sway’s ability to finish at the rim is unmatched—whether off the bounce or crashing the boards for putbacks. His presence above the rim makes him a crowd-pleaser and a problem for opposing defenses. Sway’s commitment to defense adds to his all-around value, making him a two-way threat every time he steps on the court.

Sway’s growth areas have been his jump shot and overall point guard skills. He’s focused on improving his three-point range and becoming a more versatile floor general. Over the past year, Sway has shown his biggest improvement in shooting consistency and overall confidence. Sway’s goals for this season are to earn the best scholarship opportunity possible, continue developing his shot, and lead his team to success.

Sway’s proudest basketball achievement is earning his first collegiate offers, being chosen for the All-Star Game during his junior year, and helping his middle school team achieve a five-peat championship run at Roosevelt Middle School. Sway is hyped for an upcoming tournament packed with college scouts, a perfect stage for him to showcase his skills and competitive spirit.

His love for the game fuels Sway’s fire on the court. “Just being in the gym, training, and seeing my hard work translate to games fires me up the most,” he shared. Adversity is no stranger to Sway, but he meets it head-on. He has faced it his whole life. I just pray, control what I can control, and keep going,” he said, offering insight into his resilience. The best advice he’s ever received is a lesson from his big brother: “Either you’re gonna pay the price now or pay it later.” It’s a principle that drives his work ethic and mindset both on and off the court.

Off the court, Sway enjoys playing video games, watching movies, dancing, and, of course, eating good food. Sway feels he can play D1 basketball because of his size explosiveness and l athleticism. Sway believes improving his jumpshot is key to reaching that level. Sway has two official offers from Jefferson College and Dakota County Technical College.

Sway’s combination of athleticism and an evolving skill set makes him a standout prospect for the college level. His ability to finish strong at the rim, facilitate for others, and defend effectively speaks to his versatility as a player. His growing confidence in his jump shot adds a critical layer to his game, while his work ethic and competitive fire ensure he’s always pushing to improve. With his athletic gifts and dedication to putting in the work, Sway has the potential to thrive at the next level and leave his mark on any program that lands him.
