Carter is a fierce high-energy combo guard who can defend 94 feet on and off the ball. He is strong enough to lock up any position from 1-5 effectively in the half-court set as well. His defensive swagger has earned him a top-10 ranking in steals two seasons in a row. Carter's versatility allows him to thrive hitting an open jumper from three land, and savvy ability to get to the rim and finish with both hands. Carter has good handles and uses his court vision well to drop some nice dimes. Carter doesn't mind mixing it up on the boards either.
This past season Carter averaged 12.2 points, 5.7 Rebounds, 3.5 Assists, 3.5 Steals, and 1 block per game. The most motivating thing that happened last season that will push Carter forward was losing in the first round of sectionals. Carter's goals for this upcoming season are to win conference player of the year and go back-to-back regional and conference champs.
He played AAU for Rising Stars Basketball. Carter can score at all three levels. He's very consistent with his jumper.
What fuels Carter's fire is teammates getting him fired up. Nothing gets me crazier than seeing my teammates excited.
Carter handles adversity with caution and confidence. When things don’t go Carter's way he tries his best to see it through and do what’s best for his team.
A coach can always count on Carter to guard the best player on the floor.
Carter sees himself playing at a D3 level but would consider playing any level if the fit is right.
I assess Carter’s energy, grit, and defense are all high-level. He is still hungry to improve which sets the stage for high development potential - which should translate to even more success. Carter would be a good pickup for any D3 program. However, he could go higher with contented work and performance. I am expecting a big year with the goals he has set for himself. If he achieves them his stock goes way up. Stay tuned.
