Maria is a versatile, high-energy dynamo who can be an electrifying presence on both ends of the court. She’s the kind of player who can punish defenders in the post yet step outside and attack with a smooth mid-range jumper. Maria's ability to finish strong inside, draw contact, and get to the free-throw line makes her a relentless scoring threat. Every possession is an opportunity for her to create, whether she’s breaking down a defender, finding an open teammate, or locking in to make a crucial defensive stop.

On defense, Maria is as tenacious as they come. A lockdown presence who hustles to crash the boards, she refuses to give opponents an inch. Whether she’s battling for rebounds or applying pressure on the perimeter, her relentless energy is impossible to ignore. Maria is vocal, engaged, and determined to set the tone for her team, both on and off the court. Maria is the ultimate competitor who thrives in every area of the game.

Maria’s biggest growth from last season to now is in her leadership and confidence. She has embraced her role as a team leader, taking pride in guiding her teammates and trusting in her abilities.

This offseason, Maria is focused on developing her guard skills, including ball handling and three-point shooting, to become a more complete player. Elevating these areas of her game will make her an even more valuable asset, helping her lead her team toward a state tournament run.

Maria will compete in AAU with TN Diamond Elite (TDE) and Team Brandon Wright Ambition. Her primary focus will be becoming more aggressive on offense, and she will apply everything she learns in AAU to her school season.

Next year, as an underclassman, Maria looks forward to having a voice on her team and contributing to key decisions. She is also excited to compete in the TN Miracle Classic, as she enjoys playing in South Carolina, and the Clash of Clubs EP, a first-time opportunity for her in Texas.

What fuels Maria the most on the court is the energy between her and her teammates, especially when strong defensive play leads to great offensive moments. When faced with adversity, she steps back to assess her strengths—whether it’s speed, height, or strength—to find the best way to gain an advantage over her opponent. No matter what challenges come her way, she ensures she’s ready to face them head-on.

The best coaching advice Maria has ever received is to focus on what she wants because distractions will always exist. Staying locked in on her goals will keep her on the right path.

I assess that Maria’s skill set makes her a high level prospect. Her growing leadership and confidence give her the presence needed to take charge in key moments. As Maria continues elevating her guard skills, particularly in ball handling and shooting, she’ll become a more dynamic offensive threat. Her ability to apply defensive intensity and turn it into offensive production shows a high basketball IQ. Maria’s versatility, leadership, and commitment to improvement make her a valuable piece for a next-level team. With continued growth, she has the potential to contribute as both a playmaker and a defensive asset while bringing a strong, team-first mentality to any program.
