Ty is an explosive dual-threat athlete with speed to burn on both ends of the court. Ty is a vocal leader and master facilitator, ensuring everyone is exactly where they need to be. Adding fierce ball-handling ability and court vision to dissect a defense with style, he creates opportunities for himself and his teammates. Ty is a lethal three-point sniper. On the defensive side of the ball, Ty is a tenacious on-ball defender who thrives in nasty lockdown situations and is always willing to sacrifice his body for a charge or dive for loose balls.
Last season, Ty averaged 8.2 points, 3.1 steals, 5.6 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game. This season, his numbers have jumped to 14.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 steals, 4.1 assists, and an impressive 2 charges drawn per game. His improved confidence and consistency have elevated his game. Ty now steps into his shots without hesitation, turning potential doubts into points. He has also focused on self-discipline, building strength in the weight room, and trusting his instincts. These enhancements have transformed Ty into a more complete player.
What separates Ty is his resilience. After being cut from his middle school team, he didn’t let the disappointment defeat him. Instead, he used it as fuel, outworking those who were chosen over him. By the summer before 9th grade, Ty had earned his spot on the high school team. Now, he’s competing at a level that far surpasses those early obstacles. This grit and determination define his journey.
Ty looking forward to the rematch against Carver Montgomery the most. After falling to them earlier in an electric home game, the anticipation of stepping onto their court is palpable. But for Ty, it’s not just about revenge; it’s about seizing the moment and pushing his team toward the ultimate goal—the Final Four. Ty thinks that's what everyone looks forward to: the game before the state championship. They been grinding for this since last season ended, and Ty knows they have it in them.
What drives Ty is more than stats or victories. It’s the roar of the crowd, the momentum of turning defensive stops into offense, and the pride of making the other team call timeout. Even in adversity, Ty refuses to dwell on losses, choosing instead to see them as lessons. Ty says, “Every loss is a chance to learn,” “Keep your head down, keep working, and block out the outside noise.”
Off the court, Ty finds joy in cooking, spending time with loved ones, and occasionally unwinding with video games.
Ty knows the path requires relentless effort as he works toward the next level of basketball. Ty feels he has to work ten times harder than he is now and even harder than his competitors. Ty believes his skill set fits any division, but he’s patient, trusting in God’s timing and opportunities.
Ty’s mindset is simple but powerful: “Every day God wakes you up, it’s another chance to get better than the day before.” That focus, paired with his passion and work ethic, will help him on his journey, believing it's far from over. For Ty, the best is yet to come.
