Brady Harris is a versatile wing and an electric presence on the court. Thriving on attacking the rim, Brady combines excellent footwork with crafty moves to score high-percentage baskets. Whether posting up or facing up, he’s equally comfortable with his back to the basket or stretching the floor to rain down threes. Known for his dominance in the paint, Brady scores 75% of his points there and holds himself to a high standard, striving for a double-double in every outing.

Last season, Brady averaged 16.2 points and 8.7 rebounds, amassing 12 double-doubles. This season, his growth is evident with 20.2 points and 9 rebounds per game, including 3 double-doubles already. Even in games where he falls just short of 10 rebounds, Brady's impact is undeniable. Brady’s focus this year is on improving his defense, becoming quicker, and enhancing his ability to guard all five positions. Having grown up as the tallest kid on the team, Brady’s ball-handling was once limited, but he's put in the work to become a more complete inside-and-out player.

As a sophomore leader on a young Cumberland Gap team playing up in 3A, Brady’s goal is to help his team finish with a winning record. He’s also chasing a personal milestone of 1,000 career points by season’s end. On the AAU circuit, Brady’s TN Travelers team will compete on the Puma shoe circuit, providing significant exposure and high-level competition.

Brady’s biggest high school accomplishment so far is earning All-District honors as a freshman. The rivalry games against Claiborne County are a highlight every season, and this year, Cumberland Gap took the first game in a packed, electrifying gym. With the TSSAA cycle set to move them back to 2A, Brady is optimistic about making a deep run in his junior and senior years.

What fires Brady up most are momentum-shifting plays like an “and-1” or a turnover leading to a quick score, igniting his passion for the game and fueling his competitive edge. He approaches tough games with resilience, a lesson rooted in some of the best advice he’s ever received: “You’re always going to have a bad night. Don’t let it show on your face. Make it up on defense and the boards and help your team any way you can.”

Off the court, Brady spends his time hanging out with friends, snowboarding, and helping his dad with farm work. Though his ultimate dream is a D1 scholarship, he’s realistic about the challenges and is determined to work hard over the next few years. Brady sees himself playing at the next level, potentially at a strong D2 program like Carson-Newman or Tusculum, with hopes of taking his game even further.

I assess that Brady has the size, strength, and physicality mixed with a strong skill set that will certainly open doors for Brady to play on the next level. Brady is a fearless competitor with a relentless work ethic on the floor, and his potential to evolve into a guard that takes smaller guards down low where his post magic is gonna cause them problems. Brady is one to keep a close eye on for the rest of the season and years to come to see just how high he can fly. Stay tuned.
