Landon is a dynamic two-way playmaker with great hands, explosive breakaway speed, high IQ, and athleticism. Landon is also extremely versatile and plays any of the skill positions. Even though he is a young player, Landon displays great leadership on the field in helping younger players. Landon has a confident swagger that he can deliver whatever his team needs to get that DUB.
Defensively, Landon is effective not only because of his speed and tenacity but also because of his ability to read and react to plays quickly with a nose for the ball. Landon has a relentless, nonstop motor every minute, giving 110%.
As a freshman, Landon’s stats in 2022 include 13 games, 19 receptions for 374 yards, and 3 touchdowns, averaging 19.7 yards per catch. Defensively, he added 29 tackles, 3 interceptions (1 for a touchdown), 2 forced fumbles, and 6 pass defenses.
In 2023, as a sophomore, Landon’s growth continued. In just seven games, he recorded 17 receptions for 374 yards and 5 touchdowns, averaging 22 yards per catch, with two 2-point conversions. On defense, he totaled 42 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception.
This season, Landon’s hard work paid off. Offensively, as a wide receiver, he had 47 receptions for 746 yards and 12 touchdowns, including 12 receptions of 20+ yards, averaging 15.9 yards per catch, and 7 offensive knockdowns. He led his team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.
Defensively, as a defensive end, Landon had 60 total tackles (39 solo and 21 assisted), 10 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles, 1 interception, and 2 pass defenses. He tied for the team lead in tackles for loss. These efforts earned him 1st Team 2024 WV Class A All-State WR and LKC All-Conference WR honors.
What separates Landon from others is the fact that though he has confidence knowing he can play any position, he stays humble. Landon doesn't let his success get the best of him or get a big head. Landon tries to stay humble. He also doesn't let the moment intimidate him.
Landon would tell younger players coming up to never put their heads down after one bad play.
Landon thinks he could play at the D1 level but would be open to playing at a lower division level.
I assess that Landon has extremely high potential as he continues to improve every single year, and his productivity on both sides of the ball reflects that his development is on track for continued success. Landon’s skills have already established him as one of the best in the state, with no drop-off in sight.
Landon is putting in the work and has the mindset of an athlete who understands exactly what it takes to not only reach his next-level dream but thrive there. As Landon's stock continues to rise, coaches should get him on their radar now because, at this pace, he will be having another breakout season next season.
