Mavrick is a cool-handed floor general with an explosive edge. A high-IQ point guard who can score from all three levels and gfacilitate with flair, blending control and aggression like a savvy pro. His jumper is smooth and automatic, his reads come fast, and his on-ball defense is fierce. Mavrick knows when to slow it down and when to push the tempo and that ability to play with pace, pick apart defenders, and create for others makes him a true difference-maker. His footwork, fluid handle, and consistent shooting stroke make him a tough matchup, while his relentless effort on the defensive end sets the tone for his team. What separates Mavrick from others at his position is his poise and versatility. He can run the offense, lock up the opposing guard, or take over when the moment calls for it.
This past season, he averaged 18.5 points, 4.2 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.5 steals in the regular season, then turned it up in the postseason with 25 points, 3.6 assists, 7.8 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. That rise in the biggest moments fueled a district championship run and proved that he’s built for pressure-packed games. His biggest improvement was his athleticism, which now shows up in everything from fast break finishes to lockdown perimeter defense. This offseason, he’s locked in on tightening his handle and continuing to develop the pace and feel of his game. His AAU run with ETG Midwest on the Adidas 3SSB circuit is all about growth, exposure, and seizing scholarship opportunities, with high-energy tournaments ahead and a deep postseason push with his school team on the horizon.
Mavrick plays with purpose. Defense fires him up most: getting stops, forcing turnovers, and turning defense into instant offense. He handles adversity by staying locked into his effort, energy, and mindset. When things go wrong, he doesn’t dwell but resets leans on his favorite coaching advice and moves on: “Have fun. Next play.”
Off the court, Mavrick is just as driven. He’s a multi-sport athlete on the golf team, a Link Crew leader helping younger students, the vice president of the school’s pep club, and the founder of the Sports Analytics Club. That leadership, curiosity, and drive to excel in every space makes him not just a high-level athlete but a high-character teammate ready for whatever comes next.
Mavrick brings skill, smarts, and spirit. His polished shot, defensive intensity, and ability to impact the game as both a scorer and a facilitator give him clear next-level value. Coaches looking for a lead guard who can handle pressure, deliver in crunch time, and lift a team on both ends will find all of that and more in Mavrick.
As he continues to improve his handle and evolve to his game, expect Mavrick to emerge as one of Missouri’s most reliable and respected two-way guards. His leadership, composure, and relentless will to win position him as a high-ceiling prospect with everything it takes to thrive at the next level. Stay tuned.
