David brings an electric blend of fierce hustle and dynamic decision-making, setting the tone with every possession. A high-IQ forward who commands the court with vision and poise, he brings a relentless nonstop motor. From a crafty handle in the open floor to explosive finishes in traffic, his versatility makes him a matchup nightmare. Whether he’s pushing the break, locking down on defense, or owning the glass, David’s presence and impact are clear. His voice carries, his leadership is steady, and his energy is contagious. He plays like every second matters because, to him, it does.
After a breakout season that turned heads across Kansas, David averaged 19.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. The jump from last year’s numbers wasn’t just improvement, it was a statement. His confidence surged after a senior-heavy team graduated, and David stepped into the spotlight with no hesitation. That summer grind paid off in full, leading to First Team All-League, First Team All-State, and a 2A Player of the Year Finalist nod. The biggest motivator was leading a primarily junior team to a league title game and sub-state championship run, something Stanton County hadn’t seen in years. His offseason focus is locked on quickness and developing a more explosive, all-around arsenal. With his GPA sitting at 3.8 and a pre-engineering associate’s degree on the way, he's building a foundation both on and off the floor.
This AAU season, David will play with the Wichita Padres under Coach Blake Chadwick, competing in the Recruit Look Circuit. His mission is to get noticed, earn respect, and get recruited. Every tournament is a platform, and he’s coming for each one with hunger and edge. Beyond just basketball, David is a standout athlete year-round. He’s an all-state cross-country runner, a state-qualifying track athlete, and an all-state baseball player. That multi-sport explosiveness shows up in the way he plays, fast, fierce, and fluid. When he’s not dominating the floor, he values time with his hometown crew, getting back in the gym with the boys who built something special and are now hungry for more.
What fuels David’s fire isn’t hype but stops. Defensive plays are his spark. He knows momentum is born on that end of the court, and the second a teammate makes a big stop, the whole team feeds off it. That’s his mindset. Adversity doesn’t shake him, it refocuses him. He resets, takes a breath, and lets the game come back to him. There’s no panic in his play. He leans into the best advice he’s ever received from Coach Jaxson Autry: "Be the loudest in warmups, the hardest worker in the gym, and never skip the little things". Those details define David and it shows.
I assess that David is the kind of player that can change a game with both his effort and execution. His leadership is real, his energy is sustainable, and his IQ makes him a glue guy with star talent. The way he communicates, commands the floor, and raises the intensity around him makes him a culture-builder for any program. He doesn’t just play fast, he processes fast, reacts fast, and never stops competing.
David’s combination of size, strength, and speed, paired with his relentless style, gives him tremendous upside. He rebounds with tenacity, scores in bunches, and defends with purpose. His multi-sport background gives him a physical and mental edge that can’t be taught. With a college-ready work ethic and a mindset wired for leadership, David is the kind of player who could thrive in a high-paced system, bring immediate impact, and grow into a cornerstone piece. Expect him to turn heads this AAU season and enter his senior year ready to dominate again with even more in the tank. This final run is one you won't want to miss. Get your popcorn ready, kick back, and enjoy this final run. One to remember, stay tuned.
