Elijah is a dynamic combo guard with an electric game that explodes off the floor. He’s got lethal range, stretching defenses with a three-point shot that seems to have no limit. His first step is shifty and explosive, slicing through defenders like a hot knife through butter. Once he gets downhill, Elijah can stop on a dime and elevate for a nasty middy, a shot that has become one of his most dangerous weapons. His ability to finish through contact makes him a fierce threat at the rim, while his shiftiness off the dribble keeps defenders guessing. Whether Elijah is pulling up from the left wing, his sweet spot, or attacking the lane with a smooth handle, he brings an offensive package that demands attention. And while his scoring jumps off the page, his defensive ability is just as impressive. Quick laterally and locked in on matchups, he can hound ball handlers, recover in an instant, and make life miserable for opposing guards.
Elijah is coming off a season where he averaged 11.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, shooting 42% from the field, 51% on twos, 38% from three, and 70% from the free-throw line. His confidence has skyrocketed from last season, fueled by an offseason of relentless work. The biggest improvement in his game has been his willingness to attack the rim more and expand his mid-range game. He’s been evolving his dribble pull-ups and working on his post-up moves to add another layer to his scoring arsenal. Elijah’s main focus this offseason is becoming a more complete scorer and a consistent playmaker while continuing to elevate his defensive impact. His most motivating moment this season was earning his first varsity start during Whitley County’s winter tournament, an achievement that showcased his hard work paying off.
As he prepares for the AAU season, Elijah has drawn interest from several top programs but remains undecided. His goal is to showcase his talent and keep evolving his game. Every tournament is an opportunity, and he’s looking forward to proving himself on a bigger stage. Beyond just competing, he’s focused on developing his game even further and securing his first college offer, no matter the level. The way he sees it, any opportunity is a stepping stone to something bigger, and he’s willing to put in the work to make it happen.
Off the court, Elijah enjoys spending time with his teammates and soaking in the game from different angles. Basketball isn’t just a sport to him, but it’s a constant learning experience. Whether it's breaking down film, working on his game, or simply talking hoops, he's always finding ways to improve. That passion fuels everything he does. Elijah’s teammates are one of his biggest sources of motivation, firing him up with their energy and encouragement. And if an opposing player starts talking trash, it is just an instant spark that flips a switch that takes his game to another level.
Handling adversity is part of the game, and Elijah embraces the challenge. When momentum swings in favor of the opponent, he takes it upon himself to shift it back. Whether it’s stopping a fast break after a turnover or keeping his teammates locked in after a rough stretch, he understands that leadership isn’t just about scoring, but it’s about making winning plays. The best advice Elijah has ever received is, “You know how to play the game. Just go play free.” That allows him to stay confident, trust his instincts, and play without hesitation.
Above all, Elijah’s foundation in basketball was built by his dad, who has poured time, energy, and belief into his development. Every drill, every lesson, and every tough moment all played a role in shaping the player he is today. His father never let him or his brother settle, always pushing them to be better, even when they didn’t want to hear it. That guidance has fueled Elijah’s drive, making him the competitor he is now—and the one who’s still evolving.
I assess that Elijah’s game translates well to the next level because of his versatility, shooting ability, and defensive tenacity. His three-point shooting is his biggest weapon, with a natural ability to stretch the floor. His shiftiness and quick first step allow him to create separation, and his growing mid-range and finishing ability make him more than just a deep-ball threat. His defensive effort stands out as well, when engaged, he can disrupt opposing guards and use his speed to recover quickly.
At the college level, his ability to score at all three levels and make winning plays will be valuable. As he continues to improve his decision-making as a ball-handler and playmaker, he could develop into a true dual-threat guard who can both score and facilitate. His frame will benefit from added strength, which will help him finish through contact and improve his defensive physicality.
Elijah’s potential is sky-high because of his work ethic and ever-expanding offensive skill set. His range is already elite, and his continued growth in the mid-range and around the rim will make him even more dangerous. With a strong AAU season, he has a real chance to put himself on the radar of college programs, looking for a shifty, explosive scorer with the ability to take over a game.
