Ryan is a dynamic combo guard known for his exceptional speed, versatility, and relentless work ethic. Ryan is a triple-threat punisher nearly impossible to guard, featuring a lethal jump shot from anywhere. Ryan is a fierce post presence with excellent footwork. Ryan has the explosive ability to attack the basket as well. On the defensive side, Knox is a tenacious competitor, locking in on every possession and setting the tone for his team. Beyond his physical abilities, he’s a true student of the game, committed to studying film and improving every detail of his craft.

Ryan is determined to lead his team to the playoffs and make a deep tournament run this season. As the only four-year varsity starter on the roster, Ryan welcomes the responsibility of guiding his less experienced teammates, many of whom are playing varsity for the first time. Despite the challenge, Ryan is confident in his leadership and his team’s ability to rise to the occasion.

Ryan's biggest basketball accomplishment was in 2021; he earned Program MVP honors with Iso Joe Texas while still in eighth grade. During his sophomore year, he was recognized as Second Team All-District and Academic All-District. By his junior year, he elevated his performance, earning First Team All-District and Academic All-District honors. Ryan's biggest improvement has been fueled by a relentless focus on elevating his game and helping his team succeed.

This season, Ryan is particularly excited to face The Lufkin Panthers, a matchup that features a D1 prospect, Austin Brown, and promises to test his skills. Ryan is motivated by the thrill of competition, staying calm under pressure, and leading by example in critical moments. For Ryan, adversity is simply another opportunity to step up and handle business.

Off the court, Ryan enjoys running track, music, and gaming. Ryan's track accomplishments include helping his team win the 4x4 district championship and reaching regionals twice. As Ryan looks ahead to his basketball future, he remains focused on maintaining strong grades, building character, and proving his dedication to the game. Ryan believes this will help him get to the next level, where he’s determined to show coaches that he can do whatever it takes to succeed.

I assess that Ryan can certainly compete and excel on the next level. His fierce, aggressive ability to attack the defense in so many different ways is special, and he has a defensive swagger that will certainly make him a coach’s dream, checking every box. Ryan is playing with a passion and fire determined to validate just how much potential is locked inside, trying to get out and impact a next-level program. Ryan has a lotta DOG in him. You can't teach that. Ryan is trading up the court this season, pushing for a chip and a big door for his future. Stay tuned, as he is just getting up.
