Tristan Mullings isn’t just a long wing, he’s a dynamic storm in motion. His game is fueled by a fierce mix of intensity, athleticism, and pure basketball IQ. He’s explosive off the bounce, electric in transition, and a crafty shot-maker who spaces the floor with a smooth, high-efficiency jumper. But what makes Tristan dangerous isn’t just his ability to get buckets but his versatility. He covers ground like a rocket, guarding multiple positions, crashing the glass with authority, and swatting shots with perfect timing. His vision adds another element to his toolkit. He uses his high IQ and elite court vision to set up a teammate for an open look. Tristan plays with purpose, passion, and patience and is an unselfish force who blends team-first basketball with strong scoring ability.
This past season, Tristan averaged 10.9 points per game, earning a Top 110 scoring rank in Florida and that’s just scratching the surface. His shot-blocking and rebounding both evolved and his ability to slide with guards while protecting the paint has grown as much as he has physically, 7 to 8 inches since starting high school. He’s now a paint presence that alters shots, snatches boards, and runs the floor like a man on fire. Offensively, he’s added pressure inside, drawing defenders and opening lanes for his guards. With a fractured ankle keeping him out his freshman season, simply staying healthy became a victory. Now, with his bounce, speed, and physicality on the rise, Tristan’s offseason is locked in on getting stronger, tightening his handle, and becoming more comfortable bringing the ball up. He lifts multiple times a week, eats cleaner, and trains like someone with something to prove.
Tristan is playing this AAU season with FGB 904 Elite NXTPRO and P5 Athletics, chasing championships while putting his full arsenal on display. His goals are to win big, gain exposure, and sharpen every edge of his game before stepping back into the high school season. He’s looking forward to two massive dates on his calendar—the PUMA NXTPRO tournament in Dallas (April 25–27) and PUMA NXTPRO Nationals in Orlando (July 25–27) as must-dominates. This summer isn’t just about playing, it’s about proving.
Off the court, Tristan is a true student of the game. He’s always studying, always looking to elevate. He’s not afraid to learn from others and takes pride in being coachable, humble, and hungry. What fuels his fire is the adrenaline of a clutch shot or a game-changing run. Those moments when everything tightens and he becomes the spark that changes the outcome. When facing adversity, he leans into the things he can control: effort, attitude, and energy. Even when frustration boils up, he works to channel it into something productive.
The best advice that ever stuck with Tristan came from his middle school coach: “Have a short memory and no conscience.” For Tristan, that gives him the freedom to play without fear. Now, he understands that misses and mistakes are just part of the game, not reasons to hang his head. That mindset shift turned him into a confident, aggressive, and resilient competitor that doesn’t flinch, even when the stakes are high.
I assess that Tristan is a long, athletic wing who impacts both ends of the court with fierce energy and versatility. His combination of length, bounce, and outside shooting make him a difficult matchup, especially with his ability to switch defensively and create in transition. He’s an intelligent passer, rebounds well, and plays the game the right way, with intensity and unselfishness. College coaches looking for a two-way contributor with room to grow physically and skillfully should keep their eyes locked on him.
Tristan’s game fits the modern college system as a versatile wing who can space the floor, guard multiple positions, and get out in transition. His ability to defend, rebound, and make the extra pass adds value in any lineup, and his commitment to improving his handle and strength will take his game to another level. With continued development, his potential is sky-high. He’s already a force, and the best is still on the way.
Expect Tristan to thrive in confidence, assertiveness, and impact next season, with the potential to become a reliable two-way playmaker at the college level and beyond. Stay tuned.
