Eli Wilson @Eliwilson2006, Instagram -@eliwilsonn11, 6ft, 160, Union County High School, TN c/o 25 loves to ignite the fast break turning defense into offense in a flash. Eli is a tenacious defender with quick hands and anticipates well making steals look like taking candy from a baby. Offensively Eli is a three-point sniper with a smooth touch but thrives on attacking the rim for easy baskets. Possesses a nice spin move and can be very crafty getting downhill for fierce finishes. By position, Eli is a combo guard but also a pass-first guard I looking to get guys open first but can score at will along with racking up assists. Eli's greatest strengths are being very coachable with a passion for learning and working on things that will improve his game. Another is his ball handling cause he can push the ball up the court with pressure and his passing is also very good.
This past season Eli averaged 15.2 points, 6 assists 2 steals per game while shooting 51.4% from 2 and 30.2% from 3. With a loss in the Substate game, there is motivation to push him forward next season with his main focus on improving his shooting percentage while improving himself on the floor mentally and physically and winning a state championship next year.
Eli's love for the game fuels his fire on the court for sure cause he loves to win! He uses it as motivation for him to play better and get guys open if shots aren’t falling for him as he tries to win no matter what even when it’s going bad on the floor! A coach can expect hustle and dedication from Eli along with aggressiveness on the court. Eli sees himself playing at any level that is right for him. My assessment is this defensive stud is a great fit for a D2-level university that loves to run and plays scrappy defense. All his intangibles and hunger to win will have a huge impact. Eli has tremendous growth potential because he is so coachable and has the IQ to process things on the floor quickly that he learns.
