Spencer is an explosive scoring machine with a deadly mix of skill, athleticism, and determination to win. His ability to light up the scoreboard is undeniable, attacking defenses with a shifty handle and crafty footwork that keep defenders guessing. Spencer can torch teams from deep, glide into mid-range pull-ups, or blow past defenders to finish strong at the rim. But Spencer isn't just a walking bucket but with his elite court vision and unselfish play elevate his teammates, making him just as dangerous as a playmaker. Even against bigger opponents, he battles with a fearless motor, snagging rebounds, and fighting through contact like a player with something to prove. Fast, tough, and dynamic, he’s a nightmare matchup for anyone who tries to slow him down.
Scoring 1,000 career points as only a sophomore is just the beginning of Spencer’s impact. Averaging 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game, he is a smooth, high-level scorer who can take over a game while still keeping his teammates involved. His biggest improvement this season has come on the boards, where his improved strength and relentless work ethic have made him a factor in the paint. The sting of losing winnable games this season has only fueled his fire, giving him and his team an extra edge moving forward. Spencer’s focus this offseason is on getting stronger, more explosive, and continuing to evolve every aspect of his game to attract more college attention.
AAU season will bring even more opportunities for Spencer to showcase his talent on bigger stages. Competing in events like Midwest Mania Made Hoops, he looks forward to proving himself against top-tier competition while improving his game alongside his teammates. Spencer’s goals are to elevate his skill set, dominate on the court, and continue earning interest from college programs. Nothing excites him more than playing in a high-energy environment where his teammates feed off the intensity, pushing him to give everything he has.
Handling adversity is something Spencer embraces, knowing that the struggles and setbacks shape both the player and the person. Staying positive and weathering the storm is part of his mindset, understanding that tough moments never last, but the lessons they teach do. The best advice Spencer has ever received is, "Control what you can control and let the rest take care of itself." With his eyes locked on winning a 3rd Region Championship, there’s no doubt he’ll be a force to watch.
I assess that Spencer is a highly skilled guard with the ability to impact a college program in multiple ways. His three-level scoring, high basketball IQ, and unselfish play make him an offensive weapon who can thrive in any system. Spencer’s ability to create his own shot while keeping defenses honest with his passing gives him a well-rounded game that translates to the next level. Despite his size, his toughness and rebounding ability show he’s more than just a scorer but a fierce competitor who outworks opponents in every aspect of the game. With continued physical development and relentless work ethic mixed with his athleticism, Spencer has the tools to be a dynamic playmaker at the next level, too.
Spencer’s ceiling is sky-high, and the next step in his evolution will take his game to another level. As he continues to get stronger, quicker, and more explosive, his ability to dominate games, make an impact defensively, and dictate tempo will only grow. Spencer's scoring ability is already elite, but as he continues to become even more efficient and sharpens his decision-making under pressure, he’ll be nearly unstoppable. Expect Spencer to keep making noise, proving himself as one of the most exciting and impactful guards in his class. Stay tuned!
