@Kaidenh2008
5'9, Class of 2026
Lawrence Co. HS, KY
Kaiden is a fierce, shifty floor general who is fearless, has a high IQ, and has good court vision, which he uses to dissect a defense like a surgeon. Kaiden uses explosive speed and strong handles to attack the seams and create shots for himself or his teammates. Kaiden is a natural leader and team-first facilitator with a good spirit of sportsmanship but a competitive fire that always drives him. Kaiden is a scrappy defender with a non-stop motor.
Kaiden is averaging 20 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds per game so far this season. The biggest improvement for Kaiden since last season has been his mid-range shooting. Kaiden's biggest focus this year is to maintain his 4.0 GPA and catch the attention of college coaches, letting his game speak loud and clear.
Kaiden also feels that since the AAU session, not only has his mid-range improved, but his defense has improved as well. Kaiden believes he has become a better all-around three-way player. Overall, it's made Kaiden a better player because he has a lot more awareness on the court and can make smarter moves and decisions based on what's happening in the game. He's held his own because of his quickness to stay up with the game's pace. From this, Kaiden believes his physical fitness has improved significantly.
If Kaiden could isolate one moment from the summer session, it would be the skills and drills. Kaiden tries every day to practice his shooting and drills, even if it's just playing outside with his brother. Kaiden thinks many athletes forget the basics but understand that they keep you motivated and improving. Kaiden feels the talent he battled in AAU was fierce, and some of the teams he played against had outstanding chemistry. However, in Louisville, Kaiden was able to play some top-ranked players and noticed the selfishness of volume shooting, which reminded him that there is no "I" in team. Kaiden accomplished his AAU goal of getting better every game and significantly improving his rebounding.
Kaiden recently transferred to Lawrence Co., feeling he could learn, develop, and grow more as a player. However, the deciding factor was being able to play his game while his coach had confidence in him. Kaiden feels he can add a spark, bringing 94-foot defense and great energy with scoring and playmaking. It's made Kaiden better by learning things from the coaches to make everyone around him better. Kaiden is very grateful for his new teammates for accepting him as a new player and student. Kaiden feels the biggest team challenges will be rebounding due to a lack of height and remaining poised through tough calls or high-pressure situations. He believes this scrappy, lethal shooting team can make a deep playoff run built on chemistry, communication, and unselfish play.
Kaiden handles adversity very well. When overcoming major obstacles in his freshman and sophomore years, Kaiden learned to strive for more opportunities with a "NEVER GIVE UP" mindset.
The most motivating thing that happened to Kaiden this past season was bittersweet: leaving his hometown, Chesapeake, and all his friends for a better opportunity to show who the Little Giant really is. Now, Kaiden can be himself while playing, happy for a coach who believes in him and teammates who value him in return.
What fuels Kaiden's fire the most is facing difficult challenges. Knowing he will be competing against top players drives him to play his ultimate best. Kaiden also loves learning from situations that stretch him, proving that a 5'9 athlete can be unstoppable.
We can expect Kaiden to be a better version of himself every year—never letting his team down, pushing everyone to be better, and proving he can adapt to any situation. For Kaiden, the best part of this journey is finding mentors like Kevin Moses, who helps make it all possible. Kaiden feels truly blessed.
Kaiden advises young athletes to be confident in what they can do. His biggest focus remains earning a college basketball scholarship, a dream he's chased for years.
The Little Giant has a rare quality that makes him one of the most dangerous competitors: heart. Kaiden's fearless attitude, grit, and dedication inspire everyone around him. With excitement, we look forward to seeing him continue to thrive, leaving a lasting legacy of who he is and what he can do. Stay tuned—this is going to be one unforgettable journey.
