Owen is an explosive triple-threat scoring punisher who thrives on putting defenders on their heels. His electric speed and relentless aggression make him a nightmare to guard, allowing him to carve through defenses and attack the lane with ruthless intent. Armed with wicked handles, he creates separation at will, punishing defenders with a lethal combination of quickness and skill. Owen isn’t just a scorer, he’s a long-range sniper with unlimited range, capable of pulling up on a dime from anywhere on the floor. His versatility forces defenders to stay honest, and his high IQ allows him to be a defensive menace, disrupting passing lanes while impacting the rebounding game. In transition, he’s an absolute terror, finishing through contact and dishing the rock with precision. The total package.
Owen put up eye-popping numbers this season, averaging 23 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 43% from three and 56% from the field. His AAU performances were even more dominant, where he averaged 26 points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game. One of his biggest improvements from last season has been his shot-making ability, particularly from beyond the arc, where he knocked down 95 three-pointers and increased his efficiency significantly. His ability to get buckets was on full display when he set a school record with a 52-point explosion and also dropped 43 in another game. He has now surpassed 1,500 career points in high school, proving he’s more than capable of taking over when his team needs him.
Heading into the offseason, Owen’s focus is to improve every aspect of his game while building on the momentum from this season. He’s locked in on taking his skills to another level, ensuring that his scoring, playmaking, and defensive impact become even better. His high-level shot-making has already taken a leap, but he’s not settling but wants to keep expanding his offensive arsenal while maintaining his relentless energy on both ends of the floor.
AAU ball is another proving ground for Owen, who embraces the challenge. The competition pushes him to elevate his game, and he thrives in high-stakes matchups. Owen battles against teams like Forsyth Country Day School fuel his fire, as he relishes the intensity and refuses to back down. He plays with a chip on his shoulder, knowing that the best competition brings out the best in him.
Owen's passion for winning drives him. He refuses to quit until the game is over. When adversity strikes, he doesn’t fold; he doubles his effort, puts in extra work, and finds a way to get better. The best advice he’s ever received is something he lives by: Even if you fail at something, at least you’re trying. Success comes from never giving up. That mindset keeps Owen hungry, pushing forward no matter the obstacle.
I assess that Owen’s combination of elite speed, shot-making, defensive intensity, and high basketball IQ makes him a dynamic prospect for the next level. His ability to score at all three levels, break down defenders, and create opportunities for teammates makes him a serious offensive weapon. Defensively, his quick hands and anticipation allow him to be disruptive, while his rebounding ability adds another dimension to his game. Owen brings immediate impact potential for a college program as a scorer and playmaker. His ability to stretch the floor with deep shooting and create his own shot makes him a valuable asset, while his relentless energy ensures he’s always engaged on both ends. As Owen continues to develop in his strength, decision-making, and efficiency, he has the potential to thrive at the DI level. His work ethic and commitment to growth are evident, and as he keeps refining his game, he’ll only become more dangerous. The foundation is there, and his next step is to prove it to the right program.
