Dawson is an electric young stud who brings a blend of speed, athleticism, and a quick trigger. As a dynamic triple-threat scorer, Dawson showcases a captivating game, from smooth three-point daggers with unlimited range to explosive moves off the bounce. His blow-by speed and crafty first step leave defenders frozen, creating opportunities for quick pull-ups and fierce finishes at the rim. As a dazzling floor general, he pairs a high basketball IQ with excellent court vision, threading needle-sharp passes with flair to set up easy scores. His relentless motor and tenacity make him a force on the boards, while his commitment to defense ensures his impact is felt on both ends of the floor.

Last season, Dawson averaged 8 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds in a varsity role as a sophomore. Now, halfway through the current season as a varsity starter, he has emerged as his team’s go-to leader, putting up impressive averages of 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. He leads his team in every statistical category. The biggest improvements in Dawson’s game have been his confidence and shot selection, areas where he’s made significant improvements. This season, he focuses on improving his field goal and three-point shooting percentages.

Dawson’s goals are to earn First Team All-Conference honors this year and achieving All-State recognition by his senior season. He views his biggest challenge as gaining the exposure needed to showcase his game on bigger stages.

One of Dawson’s biggest accomplishments is winning multiple AAU tournaments and earning an All-Camp MVP award. He was also recognized as his team’s Most Improved Player last year. This season, the highly anticipated rematch against the Elmwood Trojans—a team that defeated them in the regional championship—stands out. Dawson believes that if his team continues to progress and plays cohesively, they can make a deep tournament run.

“Making dazzling passes and getting and-1s to fire me up the most on the court,” Dawson shares. This energy fuels his relentless drive, even in the face of adversity. Staying calm and grounded, he focuses on what he can control and works harder every day.

The best advice Dawson has received is to focus on the “next play.” This philosophy of staying level-headed and never getting too high or too low keeps him locked in.

Off the court, Dawson enjoys traveling and exploring new places. He also likes to unwind by playing video games.

Dawson knows that reaching the next level will require a combination of hard work and exposure. He’s determined to put in the effort daily to play at the collegiate level, whether that’s JUCO, D3, D2, or a smaller D1 program straight out of high school.

Dawson’s potential is undeniable as his incredible season-to-season development, coupled with his versatile skill set, certainly translates to next-level talent. Dawson is becoming a must-watch player who scores and controls the game as a master facilitator. If Dawson continues to elevate his skills and maintain his hunger, there’s no limit to how far he can go. Keep an eye on this rising star—his future is bright. Stay tuned.
