Gary is a fierce, explosive competitor who brings fire on both ends of the floor. His game is fueled by hustle and heart. He is an electric defender who thrives on taking the ball away and a crafty shooter with a smooth touch from the outside. What separates Gary from most guards is his tenacity on defense paired with his ability to turn momentum instantly with a steal or a dagger three. He plays with fearless energy, constantly buzzing around the court, and never takes a possession off. His instincts are fierce, his footwork strong, and when the game gets chippy, that’s when he turns up the intensity. He breathes life into his team and becomes a spark plug when it matters most.
Despite battling a strained back and a broken finger through the first 13 games of the season, Gary still averaged 11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals per game and those numbers that jumped dramatically over the final stretch once he got healthier. His impact was felt well beyond the stat sheet too, as Geibel Catholic improved by 13 wins this season, a testament to his presence on the floor and competitive spirit. His biggest improvement was his grit, learning how to push through pain and still produce at a high level. Now fully locked in on his development, Gary has hit the weight room to get stronger and faster, aiming to become an even more dynamic athlete. His motivation is that feeling of winning, especially when the opposing team talks and his squad responds with energy and execution.
This spring and summer, Gary is playing for the AIT squad in the Puma Circuit, setting his sights on a championship run in Orlando. Already, he is putting on a clinic, averaging 17+ per game, and in this weekend's tournament, he hit 17 triples while shooting 51%. He’s excited to keep building off this season’s success, hoping to carry his team deep into the playoffs while showcasing his two-way versatility against top competition. Off the court, Gary embraces his faith, proudly representing his Catholic school and attending mass each week. His relationship with Jesus remains central to who he is, grounding his mindset and purpose in every game he plays.
I assess that Gary is the kind of gritty, high-IQ guard every college program needs. His blend of perimeter shooting and disruptive defense makes him a unique two-way threat. Coaches looking for a dependable, selfless player who competes on every possession will find immediate value in his presence and mentality.
With continued physical growth and confidence, Gary’s ceiling is only going to rise. Expect him to evolve into a more of a leader on both ends of the floor, capable of locking down opponents, sparking transition offense, and delivering big shots in key moments. His toughness, effort, and energy set the tone, and his future is full of promise. Gary is setting himself apart and is becoming must see TV. Get him on the radar now.
