Class of '24

Midland Trail High School.

AAU team 304

Bryar Bailes was awesome to watch. With an extremely high motor, this gem was fierce and as scrappy as they come. Bryar is tough and gritty, playing like he is 10 ft tall. Fearless and constantly on the attack, no matter who he faced, Bryar was a problem. He can really score the ball from outside or off the bounce, but it was that defensive hustle that stood out the most. He was everywhere, and pressing him just won't work. Bryar is too fast and crafty with the ball. Despite his size, he grabbed a ton of rebounds and showed a great IQ, getting the ball to the right people at the perfect moment. Bryar didn't make many mistakes.

In AAU, Bryar averaged 27 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals for one team, and 15 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals for another. The numbers don't lie—this little star can flat-out play. Bryar's biggest improvement was his mental approach to the game and trust in his work out there. He had a goal of leading his team to the state tournament as he longs to thrive in that leadership role. Bryar understands it takes a team to get it done and wants that to be a part of his true leadership role.

What sets Bryar apart is the tenacity, and he's got to match those high-energy skills. This kid is a warrior, and coaches need to know that what I describe here comes every minute he is on that floor. My assessment is a rock-solid D2 player with a high ceiling. Can't wait to catch the next show304
